Full day 8 hrs. departure from Naples and return to Naples. Your driver will meet you at the port where and he will bring you to Pompeii , avoiding all parking problems. In Pompeii you could have an audio guide or if you prefer a private local licensed guide, that will take you on a fascinating two-hour tour through this amazing archaeological site. The city of Pompeii had about 20,000 inhabitants in 79 AD, when it was completely covered in 30 feet of volcanic ash by the deadly eruption of Mount Vesuvius . You will discover the history of the town, visiting baths, villas, and theatres and wrestling grounds. Later your chauffeur will drive along the winding one-way road that leads to the heart of Positano, a pretty village of seaside villas, covered in orange blossom and roses. Explore the busy central square Piazza dei Mulini, connected to a narrow downhill path and some occasional flights of steps that lead to the seafront. Walk along the shop streets, where you could buy ceramics, lemons, shoes and "Positano fashion" clothing, and don't forget to visit the lovely Church of Santa Maria Assunta , with its characteristic majolica tiled dome and bell tower. Positano is one of the most characterized villages of the Amalfi coast. The next stop is Ravello, a small rural village unspoilt by tourism, perched on top of the mountain cliff above Amalfi and Minori, which you could reach through a narrow road, passing by several vineries and olive factories. Famous for its breath-taking views, the natural beauty and ancient monuments of Ravello are presented at their best in the gardens of Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo. Ravello has inspired lots of past personalities such as the calibre of Winston Churchill, Kennedy & Wagner. You will bring then through mountains and villages in order to reach the pretty Amalfi square, where you could have a brief break. Then you will return to Naples Port on time for your cruise embarkation.
