Piazza del Plebiscito of Naples is the symbol of the recent renewal of the city. This square is a pedestrial precinct where it is possible to walk by and it is often used for demonstrations, concerts and important events. The square takes its name from the 1860 plebiscite Naples confirmed its annexation with the Savoia reign with.
Santa Lucia is the seafront area name in front of Catel dell'Ovo. Until the XVI century it has been a fisherman village, but in 1599 the Spanish viceroy decided to transform it in a prestigious street. Naples is dominated by the Vomero hill, where it is possible to visit Castel Sant'Elmo and the San Martino charterhouse. Both buildings were constructed by the Angevines, who modified the town with the realization of many important monuments.
In 1329 Roberto D'Angị decided to enlarge the castle and entitled it to the Saint who gave its name to the hill.

The castle was then reconstruced by the Spanish during the XVI century with a star shaped perimeter. Today the castle is a place of events and manifestations. After the harbour, Piazza del Plebiscito and via Toledo you will be in the city center, full of offices, shops and monuments. Among the monuments it is important to remember the Angevins Castel, built at the end of the XIII century by Carlo D'Ang̣. The name Castelnovo was given to distinguish it by the older castel, Catel Dell'Ovo.

The castel suffered from many damages during the succession wars at the end of the Angiovins era and it was almost completely reconstructed by the Aragonenses. Another of the many Naples' beauties is the Palazzo Reale garden. Then the San Carlo Theatre, the most ancient of the Europeans theatres and still working for the lyrical seasons. The theatre was built in 1737 and attached to the Palazzo Reale, so that the sovereign had the direct admittance from the palace.

In the immediate proximity of San Carlo theatre there is the Umbero I open galley, which dates back to 1892. The gallery is formed by four arms with a masonry structure and a iron and glass roof. The style is neo-Reinassance. The gallery connects Teatro San Carlo with Palazzo Reale and with via Toledo, that for long time has been the main city street.

Many wonders are waiting for the tourist who leaves Naples: Capri, Ischia, Procida, Sorrento, Amalfi.. lands kissed by the sun where it is possible to descover the real hospitality and be enraptued by the beauty of the landscapes. The tourist will enjoy steep cliffs on the sea and beautiful paths where private and public boats moor.
