Rome
with limousine, car hire with driver
It
is the Rome city center. Here it is possible
to discover the various influences Rome
underwent during the ages, between the
original Rome and the city of the Popes. It
is the first square of Rome as a capital
city, the first square where the gas
illumination was experimented and the first
square served by a horse omnibus service,
"the very first public service that can
be compared to the limousine, car hire". The
square was remodelled at the beginning of
the XX century to receive the
"Vittoriano" monument. The name of
the square comes from Palazzo Venezia, which
was the first lodging for the San Marco
basilica Cardinals.
It is the most famous of the Rome
monuments, an arena where the Romans used to
organize competition that often had cruel
implications. It
has been built by Vespasiano over an
artificial lake on 79 a.d. and it was
inaugurated by Tito for 100 days of sport
and games. The
Colosseum façade is 50 meters tall, while
the arena has 86 metres of length and 54
meters of width. Close to the Colosseum, there
are the Constantine Arch and the Domus
Aurea, which is the residential area Nerone
created after the 64 a.d. fire. Via Vittorio
Veneto is one of the symbols of Rome, where
all the customers of our limos car hire with
drivers want to go shopping.
It
is the symbol of roman “dolce vita” (sweet
life) that characterized the city during the
60's, thanks to its luxury hotels and some
historical cafè and restaurants.
It dates back to 1502, when the
French church of Trinità dei Monti was
built. In 1700 Piazza di Spagna was put into communication with
the church through a big stair. The well-known flight of steps of Piazza
di Spagna is an open air theatre.
The project of this fountain is a
Nicola Salvi's one, and the theme that it
wants to represent is the sea. It is
possible to see a shell shaped carriage
hauled by sea horses that are preceded by
tritons and by the great statue of Oceano.
The fountain is the example of Baroque
sculpture and architecture.
During
the ancient times of Rome
this square used to have a stadium 276
metres long and 54 meter large. It was built
by Domiziano and restored by Alessandro
Severo. Piazza Navona is today the most
distinctive of the Rome's squares thanks to
the wide pedestrian precinct and to the
three fountains. The central one is called
fontana dei Fiumi.
Its
construction begun on 123 a.d. following
Emperor Adriano's will. This construction at
the beginning was used as the mausoleum of
the Emperor's family, but then under the
Aurelian Empire it became a fortified
outpost, with the construction of thick
walls an of few towers. Inside the castle it
is possible to visit the pottery museum, the
ancient weapons museum, as well as
Renaissance furnishings and paintings.
It
is the Pontiff seat and a real nation inside
Rome. Its inner part is charming, where
countless paintings and pieces of art of the
most well-known artists can be looked at by
the tourist. Inside a stately colonnade
created by the architect Bernini seems to
embrace the basilica. Hundreds of thousands
of parishioners and simple tourists pay
their visit everyday to this sacred place.
